Mitsotakis to the Financial Times: “Europe must spend more on its defense”

On the day of his participation in the Informal European Council in Brussels, during which the 27 EU members are expected to raise the issue of common European defense, the prime minister states, among other things, in an article titled “Europe must spend more on its defense” that “if our Union is to remain a pillar of peace and stability, we must acquire a strong, unified and credible deterrent. There is no time to waste.”

Greece 2nd largest spender on defence in NATO after US

The allied nations in NATO finally managed to find common grounds at the Brussels summit, but President Trump had criticised members of the alliance ahead of the meeting on Twitter, calling on them to increase defense spending, something which was achieved.
