Greece Objects Turkey's Aegean Airspace Request
Greece is opposing Turkey's retainment of Aegean Sea airspace, according to Hellenic Foreign Ministry spokesman Constantinos Koutras.
Spokesman Koutras confirmed that Turkey has unilaterally circulated a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), requesting a vast airspace territory, to be used militarily between March 2nd to December 31st, 2015. However, Greece claims the act infringes onto its own airspace region and global aircraft paths.
The Hellenic nation's Civil Aviation Authority has announced a navigational warning, that the NOTAM by Turkey is invalid. Greek Foreign Ministry spokesman Koutras confirmed that Greece will table the issue to the International Civil Aviation Authority, NATO, the EU, and the UN.
