Samaras' European Union Summit Comments

From Brussels today, Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras stated for Europe to improve, "...we need competitive ability, creation of new job openings - which is the number one problem - and, of course, solidarity among all member-states", according to ANA-MPA.

Samaras is currently in Brussels to participate in an European Union Summit meeting between heads of state and government, and opposition premiers of the European People's Party. European Council President Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso are also in attendance. Topics of discussion include EPP's seats in the European elections and planing for the EC informal meeting scheduled.

The Hellenic Prime Minister commented, "I am happy with the fact that the EPP, which won the elections, will lead this process for the next five years and work constructively to attain this target...the target being, simply said, development".
