Greece Plans Air Force Modernization
Greece is vying to upgrade its F-16 fleet, after implementing an advancement to its Mirage fighter jets.
Defense Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos has requested for a mandate to be executed, to modernize its air force fleet, while the cost of improvements has not yet been determined. This past Wednesday, the Defense Minister ratified an agreement to enhance the nation's 10 Mirage 2000 jets.
The plan calls for the Hellenic Air Force to receive its new air equipment from France's Dassault manufacturer. Avramopoulos is predicted to execute a tender shortly, regarding technical backing of the fighter jets.
