Olympiakos Champions Defeat Apollon
Greece's superstar team Olympiakos completed the 2014 season in victory, by defeating Apollon 1-0 in the final round yesterday.
In the game's 88th minute, Javier Saviola scored a close-range goal that resulted in the final score.
The champions won a record 41st championship and finished with 17 more points than PAOK. PAOK lost 3-2 at Levadiakos. Apollon ranked 17th, while Aris held the last-place mark, who drew 0-0 in next season's second division with Giannena. Xanthi ranked 16th place, after defeating Panathinaikos 3-1. Xanthi will participate in a playoff with Panathinaikos for a place in next season's second division.
Additionally, Veria defeated Asteras 1-0, Platanias settled 0-0 at Panionios. Ergotelis beat Kalloni 3-0, while Panetolikos defeated OFI 1-0, and Atromitos conquered 3-1 at Panthrakikos.
