Greek & FYROM Ambassadors Hold UN Meetings Tomorrow
Ambassador Matthew Nimetz, who serves as the United Nations Secretary-General's Personal Envoy concerning discussions between Greece and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, has invited the Representatives of the two countries, Greek Ambassador Adamantios Vassilakis and FYROM Ambassador Vasko Naumovski to meet with him tomorrow.
The two Ambassadors have accepted his invitation and will conduct meetings at UN Headquarters in New York City. Vassalikakis has served as Greece's chief representative and negotiator on the FYROM name dispute in UN-led discussions since 2007.
Ambassador Nimetz will initially meet with the two delegates independently, before holding a joint meeting. The goal of the discussions are to advance the UN-administered talks to reach a mutually beneficial term regarding the "name" issue, according to the United Nations.
