More awards for "Miss Violence"
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The Greek film "Miss Violence" received the award for the best scenario (Alexandros Avranas and Costas Peroulis) at the 24th international film festival of Stockholm.
"Miss Violence" could be seen as a continuation of the dark and strange narratives of New Greek cinema, seen in films such as the 2009 Stockholm Film Festival Bronze Horse winner "Dogtooth", arguably reflecting the country’s bleak political and economic situation. "Miss Violence" competed at the 70th Venice International Film Festival, where director Alexandros Avranas was awarded the Silver Lion for Best Director and actor Themis Panou was awarded the Volpi Cup for Best Actor.
170 films from more than 40 countries are included in this year's Stockholm Film Festival.

But with her death the facade that hides the horrible tales of domestic abuse within the family begins to fall apart.
