Young inmates get into university
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Four inmates of the juvenile detention center at Avlona have managed to pass university entrance examinations, hearing the glad tidings a few days ago.
Starting on 15 September they will be freshmen in the schools they managed to enter, after many trials and tribulations.
The four youths will be given special permits to be able to attend classes as often as is required in order to finish their studies.
However, one of them has already been shipped off to another jail far from his university.
The principal of the school's jail Petros Damianos speaking to Athens radio station Athina 984 noted the deep importance of the youths finishing their studies and asked the justice ministry to look into their plight, correcting the hapless transfer.
