No solution for Romanos

The father of Nikos Romanos arrived at the Prime Minister's office at 11am, as was scheduled, in order to meet with the Prime Minister.

He emerged less than an hour later with little to say to the waiting journalists other than that no solution had been found to the problem.

Following the meeting, at which the Justice Minister Charalambos Athansiou was also present, Giorgos Romanos said that no commitments had been made.

“As a father I want a solution to the issue. A large part of society knows what is right. My child is in critical condition. The chances of his death are increasing with whatever that means for the government.”

The meeting with the Prime Minister came about following a request from Romanos’s parents.

However yesterday in their respective speeches during the parliamentary debate over the 2015 budget, both the Prime Minister and the Justice Minister referred to the Romanos case and made clear that they were unlikely to alter their positions.
