Lawsuits against Bonham's
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Lawsuits and proceedings against the auction house “Bonhams” and the shipowner that refuses to pay are being prepared by the owners of three works of art sold at an uction in London on November 25, 2014.
Recent reports indicate that the shipowner who was the highest bidder for the three artworks by Greek artists, refuses to pay for them as required "because he changed hismind" and irreparably defames Bonham's auction house.
The shipowner bid for the three projects through a partner and believes he will stave off ridicule! What he has apparently forgotten is that in the past through the same partner he had purchased works from Bonham's and has paid through a bank account. Therefore, Bonham's and the owners of the three 'unpaid for works' will haunt him legally in Athens and London and will receive the money owed to them with interest.
In the coming days, suits will be tendered, and the name of the owner and his close collaborator will become known.
Bonham's, however, as has become known are making efforts to resolve the issue before names reach the public.
