Euro Working Group teleconference on return of 1.2 billion euros to Greece

A Euro Working Group teleconference between Greece and European technical experts on the economy was concluded in a good climate on Wednesday noon, according to the finance ministry.

The sources said that the discussion covered all issues, not just Greece's request that the European Financial Stability Fund return 1.2 billion euros (which is being reviewed by the ESM in its technical aspects), but liquidity, the country's fiscal course and reforms issue as well.

The communication of the Greek side with the technical experts continues as normal, the government said.

On Tuesday, EFSF press spokesperson has confirmed that Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsselbloem has asked the EFSF to examine the request for the return of 1.2 billion euros to Greece and inform him. Dijsselbloem has also asked the head of the Eurogroup Working Group President Thomas Wieser to examine the issue, the spokesperson said.

The amount would be returned by the European Financial Stability Fund (EFSF) to Greece through the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF) in Greece

The same Community sources told ANA-MPA that the meeting must be unanimous in order for the HFSF request to be approved.
