- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Tourism is a pillar of development said mayor of Athens, Giorgos Kaminis, at a press conference organized for the third year of the Travel Trade Athens conference.
Mr. Kaminis mentioned last last year's tourist flow increased by 30% and expressed the hope that this year it will move at the same level and perhaps surpass it.
More than 80 selected industry professionals from around the world came to Athens in order to participate in the 3rd Travel Trade Athens 2015 Workshop, co-hosted by the Development and Tourism Promotion Company of the Athens municipality (EATA), and the European Tour Operators Association.
As part of the event appointments with professionals and companies (suppliers) of Greek tourism market were scheduled. During the previous two Travel Trade Athens shows, a total of more than 3,500 individual business meetings were held, which led to numerous agreements and partnerships between foreign buyers and Greek tourism businesses.
