"We must see issues that beyond the economic barbarism, fall into the realm of ethics at a time that the residents of the islands open their arms to the waves of refugees, the government is obliged to increase the VAT rate in the islands" stressed Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras at joint statements with European Parliament president Martin Schulz at the Maximos mansion on Wednesday.
Last summer some had plans for the so-called Grexit, today, with the refugee crisis that passes from Greece to the whole of Europe, is proved how silly they were and if continue to insist on such plans it will probably mean that they are not only imbecile but also dangerous, stressed Tsipras.
On his part, Martin Schulz said that the first home and VAT increase issue that Tsipras pointed out are right and that he will brief his colleagues in Brussels. He also said that he spoke with European Commissioner Pierre Moscovici on Tuesday night and expressed his estimation that "we can play a role towards this direction".
