Tsipras: Gov΄t didn΄t back down on 'open issues'
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday referred to the issues that need to be resolved ahead of the completion of the first round of the prior actions, which are expected to be voted on this current week.
At stake are the recapitalization of Greece΄s four systemic banks and disbursement of the 10+2 billion euros, ΑΜΝΑ reported.
In comments during a Cabinet meeting, Tsipras said his government did not back down on so-called "open issues", such as a 100-installments scheme for repayment of debts to the state, or, the VAT rate on the education system. He also said the first evaluation of the programme is not linked with the recapitalization of the banks.
Tsipras stressed that the government΄s priority is a conclusion of the negotiations within the week, so that the EWG and the SSM give the green light for the disbursement of the 10+2 billion euros on Monday. A relevant bill will be submitted to the Parliament next week.
