IMF Positive View on Meetings in Greece
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
An IMF spokesperson has insinuated that discussions with the Greek government will be lengthy, maintaining low tones on the departure of troika reps from Athens.
Mr. Gerry Rice clarified that the IMF representation had constructive dialogue with the Greek side during which they marked significant progress, with, however, some issues still pending.
At the same time Mr. Rice clarified that Greece is not facing a funding problem for the next months, downplaying worries that the departure of the troika from Athens might lead the country to a fiscal impasse.
He also focused on the attainment of a primary surplus in 2013, but refused to comment on the 2014 budget.
