Spyros Gianniotis takes silver in 10-km marathon swimming race

Greek swimmer Spyros Gianniotis won the silver medal in men’s 10-kilometer marathon swimming in Rio’s Olympics on Tuesday, in a tight finish that saw Ferry Weertman from the Netherlands win gold.
Both swimmers clocked 1:52:59.8, but judges gave the Dutchman the gold after reviewong the photo finish. France’s Marc-Antoine Olivier was third with 1:53:02.0.
Gianniotis managed to garner a medal after five Olympics. This will be his swan song as a competitor.
