Tender for TV licences in progress
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The procedure for the granting of TV licences started earlier on Tuesday with 8 candidates after Epsilon TV withdrew from the tender as it did not meet the requirements.
According to the proceedings, the building of the General Secretariat of Information and Communications (GGEE) where the tender is taking place was thoroughly checked by the Greek Police and sealed. Only the participants in the tender have access to the building, while journalists are kept strictly outside the building.
Throughout the process the participants will remain in specific areas and they will be allowed to get out the room only accompanied. Also, the use of personal computers or wireless devices will be prohibited.
The government will grant four TV licences.
