Parties demand answer for Tsipras - Varoufakis SMS
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
A new round of contoversy from the opposition parties was triggered by the latest revelations about the manipulations of Alexis Tsipras in 2015, but before the elections.
"The 7 sms of Mr Varoufakis and Tsipras ahead of the Eurogroup of May 11, 2015, which are now seeing the public eye, are the strongest answer to those who accused New Democracy of worrying when it warned that Mr. Tsipras is playing the country at craps," the main opposition commented.
Proto Thema newspaper published on Sunday new extracts from the book of the former Finance Minister. In this, Mr Varoufakis quotes the sms he exchanged with the prime minister after informing him of Wolfgang Schäuble's proposal for a "time out" from the Eurozone, with help for the transition. In these messages, according to the report, Mr. Tsipras appears ready to discuss the proposal of the German Finance Minister.
The sms in question:
Varfufakis (16:21): Wolfgang made an incredible pirouette in today's meeting.
Tsipras (16:22): That is?
Varoufakis (16:25): Sends you a message about time out ...
Tzipras (16:26): Does it propose an exit or adoption of a parallel coin?
Varoufakis (16:27): The first through the second: He admits that our Memorandum destroys us.
Tsipras (16:30): Then tell him if he means it, let's talk about how it could be done under the best possible conditions. Funding, consensus and mutual assistance without bankruptcy.
Varoufakis (16:35): He gives us tremendous help in the transition.
The constitution of a committee of inquiry for that "dark" period is imperative, commented New Democracy, urging the Prime Minister to give a clear answer to the Grexit approach.
PASOK with a statement also demanded an answer from the prime minister.
"Mouths are opening up and the Tsipras-Varfufakis SMS are in the open. Mr. Will Tsipras continue to be silent? " The party's announcement says.
