Karelias announces € 2.5 m employee bonuses

The company has made a remarkable bounce-back from 13 years ago when it ceased collaborating with Japan Tobacco International for the production of foreign brands and concentrated efforts on promoting its own “Karelia Golden Case”, managing to quadruple turnover by 2012.

In 2013, the company paid 400 million euros of taxes to the state, 7.1 million to social security funds, and brought in 170 million euros from sales abroad.

Despite fear that 2013 would have been a difficult year, the company managed to register record sales, 8% over 2012. The firm also invested 3 million euros last year, while hiring a further 35 persons.

This year's bonuses will be given “clean” of any taxes or deductions, as these have already been paid by Karelias, and are as follows:

1. A “turkey” bonus of € 200 for every employee.

2. An attendance bonus of € 800 for those that were present on all workdays.

3. An education bonus of € 1,400 for employees with children in public tertiary education institutions.

4. An additional bonus of € 525 for those employees whose children were accepted into said institutions in 2012.

5. At the same time the firm gifted a new Apple laptop to all employee children that were accepted into tertiary education institutions in 2012.

6. Employees with monthly wages of over € 2,001 will receive a bonus of € 750

7. Employees with monthly wages of between € 1,701 and € 2,000 will receive a bonus of € 800

8. Employees with monthly wages of between € 1,401 and € 1,700 will receive a bonus of € 1,570

9. Employees with monthly wages of between € 1,201 and € 1,400 will receive a bonus of € 1,600

10. Employees with monthly wages of between € 1,001 and € 1,200 will receive a bonus of € 2,550

11. Employees with monthly wages under € 1,000 will receive a bonus of € 2,600.

Also:

12. Employees with monthly wages of between € 1,201 and € 1700 with three minor children will receive an additional € 750 for each.

13. Employees with monthly wages under € 1,200 with two minor children will receive an additional € 450 for each.

14. The lottery tickets that were drawn on New Years Ever paid out € 800.

Last year the firm also shelled out more than € 2 million in 2012.
