Marinakis lashes at government spokesman

With a personal announcement, shipowner Vangelis Marinakis responded publicly to what the government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos announced, on the occasion of the night phone call received from the shipowner, last Saturday.
"I spoke to you in the course of our telephone conversation on Saturday at 22:17 in the evening, revealing my name to ask what was necessary for the exercise of the fundamental right to defend my honor and my reputation and for the protection of my values as a human being, as appropriate to the rule of law, which, unfortunately, you are trying to dismantle," notes Marinakis among other things.
As he notes in particular that "a personalized attack against me is obviously trying to substitute for an absolute inability to articulate political discourse without insult and slander."
MArinakis speaks of fraudulent actions and accuses the government of ulterior motives in trying: "to make the public believe that Marinakis finances the New Democracy party with questionable funds and through this nefarious agenda to go to elections. That's why you are constantly meddling with justice, proclaiming persecutions and claiming testimony, with one goal: to incriminate an innocent man and with him the opposition, in order to stay in power and in your chair. "
Mr. Marinakis even states categorically: "I have no relationship with New Democracy and Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, while I have helped your government and in this context I have met Mr. Tsipras many times at the Maximos Mansion".
The shipowner, referring to a non-paper from the PM's office, which describes him as a "drug lord", notes: "As for the brains behind the wretched slander against me, who blatantly ignores the presumption of innocence and announces unexpected judicial developments, admitting that the ultimate responsibility for any announcement issued by the Prime Minister's Office is exclusively Mr. Tsipras'. A more obvioust, brutal, and direct revelation of the plot against me could not have been publicly confessed."
Finally, Mr. Marinakis, announced an upcoming recourse to Greek justice and to European law.
"The road to Justice, which you say you will follow, is open, although you have proved hat you do not respect it," he retorts to the government spokesman and concludes: "It is certain that you will go down the path to justice, not because you choose it, but because you will be obligated to restore legitimacy, in Greece as well as in the European Court of Human Rights?
