There was tension at the Polytechnic school in the morning when a group of young people prevented a delegation of SYRIZA from laying a wreath in the context of events for the celebration of the anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising against the junta in 1973.
The SYRIZA delegation included Kostas Gavroglou, Panagiotis Rigas, Panos Skourletis, Nikos Filis, Thodoris Dritsas, Nikos Toskas and Anneta Kavvadia.
The delegation eventually failed to deposit the wreath and the SYRIZA members left. Meanwhile, some time ago, at the Polytechnic, members of communist youth KNE arrived for security because at 10.30 am Dimitris Koutsoubas was expected to pay his respects at the site.
"These issues are serious" and "must be dealt with in democratic processes," said Education Minister Kostas Gavroglou.
