Independent MP Theoharis joins ND

Independent MP Haris Theoharis joined New Democracy (ND), a party announcement said on Tuesday.
According to the announcement, Theoharis met on Tuesday with ND leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis and discussed political developments, agreeing that their views on the recovery of the economy and on the need for the establishement of a major reform front coincide.
After his meeting with Mitsotakis, Theoharis made the following statement.
"I believe that the time has come to finally close the chapter of the crisis and to enter the course of stability and growth. In this framework I decided to respond to the ND's leader call and to rally in this struggle. I call on all the Greeks to actively contribute to the opening of this new page for the country and its citizens' progress and prosperity".
Theoharis used to head the Greek tax collection agency and was elected MP for the To Potami party, in 2015, before quitting the party and becoming independent.
