Acropolis photo by National Geographic gets over 1.2 million Instagram likes

A photograph of the Acropolis monument in Athens, posted recently on Instagram by National Geographic, has gotten over 1.2 million likes.
Taken by National Geographic photographer, Muhammed Muheisen, 37, the photo depicts an impressive moment when the full moon is right above the Parthenon and the Propylaea, illuminating the Acropolis monument.
“The last full moon of 2018 rises above Propylaea, the monumental gate of the ancient Acropolis hill, next to the 2500 BC Parthenon temple in Athens, Greece,” notes Muheisen, a two-time Pulitzer prize winner.
On his personal account, Muheisen has uploaded a video showing him shooting the photo from a rooftop in Athens.
The Instagram post with the full moon over the Acropolis is among those that has collected the most likes on the account of National Geographic, making it one of its most popular photos.
