Greece will be among the countries honored at the China International Import Expo 2019 (CIIE) held at Shanghai from November 5 to 10.
A statement by Enterprise Greece, the export-boosting agency, said that Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will provide a tour of the Greek pavilion to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Greece's motto at the fair will be "A culture to share".
The Greek exporting focus will be on food and beverages, with 26 businesses of the sector represented and wine tastings held. CIIE will include a forum and B2B meetings between 60 Greek companies with over 200 Chinese businesspeople. Other Greek sectors represented include energy, tourism, shipping, construction, pharmaceuticals and agrofoods, among others.
Mitsotakis will be visiting China from November 3 to 6.
At a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting in September, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias and Chinese State Councilor and FM Wang Yi spoke of promoting relations between the two countries further, including in the framework of China's "Belt and Road Initiative" and the so-called 17+1 collaboration of several European countries with China.
