EODY executives testify on coronavirus-stricken private clinics
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The prosecutor of the Athens Court of First Instance Nikos Antonarakos on Tuesday heard the testimonies of two National Public Health Organization (EODY) executives, who are investigating the rapid spread of coronavirus at the 'Taxiarchai' clinic in Peristeri as well as at the 'Kastalia' clinic in Athens' southern suburb of Ellinikon.
According to the report, one EODY executive testified about the clinic in Peristeri, where four patients infected with coronavirus died, and who spoke of a lack of vigilance in compliance with protection protocols, a possibility that may have contributed to the abrupt spread of the virus there.
By order of the prosecutor, additional documents were confiscated from the Peristeri clinic on Tuesday.
