In a move certain to be disliked by EU parliament candidates, PM Antonis Samaras has called for incompatibility between the position of parliament member and candidate for the elections.
Prime minister Antonis Samaras has called for incompatibility between the position of parliament member and candidate for the European parliament elections for members of his party.
As revealed by interior minister Yannis Michelakis talking to "Vima FM,” incompatibility concerns an internal process for the New Democracy party rather than the rule for all parties.
Also, the Interior Minister confirmed that citizens can place up to four crosses, meaning they can check up to four candidate names on the ballot. and that there is a single constituency for the whole country.
Asked to comment on the nomination of Yannis Sgouros, the incumbent Attica district governor, of whom many members of New Democracy have spoken in positive terms, noted that he thought Yannis Sgouros was not good prefect, but hastened to explain that it was his personal opinion.
