Children discover unexploded WW II shell in Pefki

Children reportedly discovered an oxidized Italian World War II shell that was found on the afternoon of March 25th in a building under construction in Pefki.
More specifically, according to a local resident, the children discovered it while playing on a plot of land near the site.
As the same source points out, because the children's parents initially did not believe that they had actually found a shell, they carried it with their hands to show it to them.
The local resident noted that "the parents then said let's go light candles in the church, as they were worried."
"I was scared. I pass by there every day," he added.
Traffic on Dimokratias Street from the height of Salaminos Street was blocked by strong forces of the Hellenic Police, as the find is considered extremely dangerous.
In addition, residents are prohibited from approaching or moving their vehicles parked near the site.
The demining of the shell is expected to take place on Thursday morning (26/3) by a specialized team from the Land Mine Disposal Department (LMD) of the Army
