Alexis Tsipras meets US Ambassador Guilfoyle

Developments in Greece and the wider region, as well as Greek-American relations, were discussed during a meeting of ELAS party president Alexis Tsipras with US Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle on Monday.
According to ELAS, Tsipras said that Greek-American relations must be based on mutual benefit and not on the logic of an ally taken for granted and on a carte blanche approach. He said diplomacy was the only way to guarantee peace, stability and security in the region and called on the United States to convey clearly to Türkiye that it must respect international law and end provocations.
In a post on X, the ambassador said, "Continuing my engagements with key Greek political figures, I was pleased to meet with former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. We had a wide-ranging conversation on the strength of the US-Greece relationship and the importance of a secure and prosperous Eastern Mediterranean. Strong partnerships are built through open dialogue, and I appreciated the opportunity to exchange views."
