The 46-year-old woman, who is accused of participating in the deadly arson of Marfin, is currently being taken to the investigation office.
The 46-year-old has been in Athens since last night and will appear before the Public Prosecutor of Appeals, in order to execute the international warrant that was issued against her in the case and on the basis of which she was arrested by the British authorities and subsequently extradited to Greece. The prosecutor will then refer her to the competent investigator.
The 46-year-old had expressed, through her lawyer, her intention to come to Greece, while she had also communicated with officers of the Homicide Prosecution, to whom she stated that she would return to testify, pleading not guilty to the case.
Finally, she was arrested on July 13 at London's Gatwick Airport, where she was preparing to board a flight to Athens, as the red notice had been issued against her.
In particular, after the activation of the Interpol red notice, she appeared before a British court where she consented to her extradition to Greece and signed a relevant statement.
The prescribed extradition procedures were followed and yesterday a team from the Organized Crime Directorate traveled to London, which picked her up and transported her on a passenger flight to Athens.
The police officers with the 46-year-old arrived shortly after 11 last night (Thursday, July 6). The woman was detained overnight at the GADA and will face justice today.
It is noted that the woman has been living in Brighton for the past six years, where she has a family and two children.
The 46-year-old is involved in the deadly arson of Marfin, according to police investigation data, from visual material in which she allegedly has a supporting role with her features covered.
The two 42-year-olds have already been remanded in custody for the same case, who were arrested and it is alleged that one had a coordinating role and the other broke the bank's window in order to facilitate the arson.
