Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) today led Congressman Brian Mast (R-FL), Congressman Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL), in sending a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland calling on the Department of Justice to immediately declassify and publish FBI and CIA documents that may implicate Saudi Arabian officials in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

"Being the representative for Staten Island and Southern Brooklyn, I represent the largest population of 9/11 first responders in all of New York City," said Congresswoman Malliotakis. "Many in my district witnessed the atrocities of that day first hand, and for 20 years they and the American people have been deprived of due justice. The Biden Administration must make good on its commitment to absolute transparency at all levels of government by releasing these documents so justice can be served for our 9/11 first responders and families."

"The Department of Justice must immediately declassify and publish intelligence reports regarding potential Saudi involvement in the 9/11 attacks," said Congressman Mast. "It has been almost 20 years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and the United States government owes the victims and their families of the terrorist attacks complete transparency."

“Transparency is critical to Americans’ faith in their government,” said Congressman Bilirakis. “My hope is that the Department of Justice will embrace a culture of transparency as it relates to the investigation into the September 11th Terror attacks on our country so that the families of the victims can finally experience the accountability and closure they deserve.
