The Pope appears wearing baseball cap spilling the beans on his favorite team
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
His preference for the Chicago White Sox had been clear from the beginning, but now Pope Leo XIV has made his sports fan preferences clear.
As soon as white smoke rose from the Vatican and the new Pope appeared on the balcony, half the planet suddenly became interested in his biography. Leo XIV is the first Bishop of Rome who comes from the USA. He was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. However, his favorite team is not the NBA Bulls. Nor the MLB Cubs.
His own brother had informed from the beginning that he loves baseball, but supports the White Sox - not the Cubs. So the rumors were dispelled early, but now... they have already disintegrated.
Because the new Pope appeared in St. Peter's Square to marry a couple and before putting on his official priestly hat, he was wearing a black cap with the Chicago White Sox logo!
Pope Leo the 14th, born Robert Francis Prevord, was elected on May 9, while his sympathy for this particular Chicago baseball team had become known years before, when he was... relatively unknown.
In 2005, he had been at the stadium to watch a Sox game for the World Series and the... pope-watchers had "noticed".
