New Tourism Record Expected in Greece

Greece is headed for a new record in tourism rates this year, as reported by the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises.

The statistics revealed that tourist arrivals increased by 30.1% at major Hellenic airports, during the first four months of 2014, compared to last year. This year's figure already holds 1,315,901 travelers.

SETE predicts that 18.5 million tourists will visit Greece this year, generating 13 billion revenues. This determination does not include cruise ship arrivals.
In Athens, arrivals already increased by 36.1% this year.

The Association believes 700,00 more appearances will occur in the nation's capital alone. In the Cycladic islands, arrivals enlarged 123%, Peloponnese arrivals enlarged 28.1%, and Crete travels grew by 43%, compared to the same time frame of 2013.
