UNSC Plans July 30th UNFICYP Resolution Adoption

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has rescheduled its planned discussions, regarding the UK draft resolution on the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), according to Parikiaki.

The UNSC is currently involved in two massive global turmoils- the Malaysian Flight 17 crash and violence that is plaguing the Gaza strip. UNFICYP discussions were planned to start last week.

The UNSC is set to meet with nations involved in UNFICYP on Wednesday, while UN Special Representative to Cyprus Lisa Buttenheim, will address involved parties on Thursday. July 30th marks the new date to adopt the resolution.
