- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The value of Greek fruit and vegetable exports to Germany increased by 8 percent this year, compared to 2022, at the same time when such imports to the country – which sports Europe’s biggest market and economy – decreased.
According to figures supplied this week by the association of fruit and vegetable exports in Greece, Incofruit Hellas, apple exports to Germany increased by 14%; oranges by 6%; bell peppers 7%; mandarins 5% and strawberries by 10%.
Another notable Greek fruit variety popular with German consumers, carrots, was up by 12%.
“Greek products’ reputation must be maintained and promoted in competitive markets,” Incofruit Hellas special consultant Giorgos Polychronakis said, in commenting on the results.
