Golden Globes: Lanthimos the award for best comedy - Golden Globe to Emma Stone

The ceremony took place at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, with the star of the Greek director, Emma Stone, receiving the award for Best Actress for her role as Bella Baxter.

“Tony, thank you for the script! George, I don't know what else to tell you, but I am absolutely grateful that we met! Bella in the movie is like acting in a romantic comedy. […] He accepts everything with ease. It stays and lives in me," said the actress.

Indeed, in his speech Giorgos Lanthimos and before the thanksgiving joked about seeing Bruce Springsteen in the audience, about whom he said that "he is the hero of my life and I can only talk about him".

The movie "Oppenheimer," Christopher Nolan's drama about the inventor of the atomic bomb, was the top performer at the Golden Globes.

"Oppenheimer" took home five awards, including best drama, best director for Nolan, best score, and acting awards for Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr.

 Two Golden Globes for 'Barbie'
"Barbie," which led the way with nine nominations, took home two awards.

Barbie won best song, for a tune written by Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas. And, as the year's highest-grossing film, it claimed a newly created box-office achievement trophy.

"Succession" took home the award for best drama series and the acting awards for stars Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook and Matthew MacFadden.
