Pnina Yanai, Israel’s Ambassador to Athens, posted a message on social media to students marking the new school year, which begins today in Greece and started a few days ago in Israel.
"I wish you a successful and creative school year, full of exploration. Study, learn, ask questions, strive, and never be afraid to dream big," she says.
"Remember that you are children of two ancient and great peoples who have enriched humanity with ideas, values, knowledge, and creativity," she notes.
"The knowledge you gain today will empower you to build a better world tomorrow."
"Greece, Israel, and the Jewish people—each in their own unique way—have left a profound mark on human civilization and continue to contribute to the world today in the fields of science, culture, medicine, technology, and innovation."
"You are the ones who will carry on this wonderful legacy. The knowledge you gain today will empower you to create, to have a positive impact, and to build a better world tomorrow."
"Study hard, grow wiser—and don't forget to enjoy the journey," she concludes.
