Jaild GD deputies barred from confidence vote.

Judicial authorities have denied a request by Golden Dawn MPs currently remanded in Korydallos prison that they be allowed to take part in the confidence vote.

The Golden Dawn lawmakers currentlyremanded in custody in Korydallos pending their trials have been denied permission to take part in the three-day parliamentary debate for the vote of confidence in the government. The prosecutor overseeing the prison denied a written request that extraordinary leave be granted from the prison.

Specifically, the leader of Golden Dawn, Nikos Mihaloliakos, the party spokesperson Ilias Kasidiaris, and MPs Giannis Lagos, Christos Pappas, Nikos Mihos, Panagiotis Iliopoulos, together with Stathis Boukouras (who left the party last March) submitted a written request for extraordinary leave from the prison in order to take part in the three-day parliamentary process leading up to the vote of confidence late on Friday.

Their request was examined by the prosecutor responsible for overseeing Korydallos jail who rejected it.

Only the Golden Dawn MPs being held at the Korydallos prison in Athens made such a request. Lawmakers from the neo-fascist party held in other facilities had not.
