Job openings guarding rich kids

Bodyguards for children outside schools is now far from rare in Greece, as kidnapping cases have terrorized the country's rich and powerful, who are hiring experts to constantly have their eyes on the offspring of the largest business families.
The recent incident, of the kidnapping of the 27-year old niece of the president of FC Asteras, like other kidnapping cases have forced owners and industrialists to take measures, as they are willing to pay handsomely to avoid becoming the next target. The fear is that the would-be kidnappers would not attack them but would target their children, as usually these are guarded to a lesser extent.
"The measures have been extended to schools, mainly in rich areas of Athens. People who have too much money are targets. Even those who consider themselves low profile. The incident of the 27-year old terrified them, as usually happens when such incidents are publicized. In recent days the requests we receive for providing bodyguards have doubled, "says Angelos Agrafiotis, of A & K Risk Management Consulting, speaking to "Free Press."
As he says, only a small number of occuring kidnappings make the media. According to information from the newspaper this year, apart from the case of 27-year old, there have been 11 other kidnappings. Most ended quickly, with the payment of small amounts (5-10000 euro) and the victims are not related to known persons or entrepreneurs.
"The concern is that when a group achieves its purpose, the next step may be larger, ie the capture of a higher valued target that will bring more ransom," says the security services executive.
Moreover, beyond bodyguard recruitment, participation in education abduction avoidance seminars by the rich has increased, since the target's reflexes play an important role. Something that was proven last December, when 33 year old Andreas Martinos, a member a large shipping family was ambushed but managed to escape thanks to evasive maneuvers he took with his car.
