Pilgrims to Athos safe
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The adventure experienced this morning by 23 passengers aboard a vessel performing the route from Ierissos to Mount Athos had a happy ending.
The vessel suffered mechanical damage, resulting in loss of ccontrol while two ships of the Coast Guard and three private boats rushed to help.
During the towing process, the skipper managed to repair the damage and then the boat returned to Ierissos.
As it became known, there was no need to transfer passengers, who are in good health.
