Elderly man commits suicide after being robbed of pension.

Unknown perpetrators stole the money of the pension of an elderly man in Viannos and in desperation he committed suicide.
The 81 year old man was in desperate situation and decided to put an end to his life.
He hid the money under his pillow and when he realized what happened… he hung himself from an olive tree.
In another incident unknown perpetrators broke into the house of an elderly couple in Chania and stole jewels, valued at 3.000 euros.
The incident occured late on Wednesday night, when the couple was not in the house.
The burglars tried to force the front door, but with no success.
Afterwards, they broke a window, got into the house and took all the jewelry they could.
The elderly couple realized what happened when they returned home.
According to “Haniotika Nea” newspaper, the woman returned first to the house, the burglars met her in the entrance and they returned a gold watch that they had stolen a few minutes before.
