German Media on Greek Military Parade

The military parade in Thessaloniki has been characterized a "huge" issue by German media.
"Der Spiegel" and "Bild" are sporting front pages large pictures from the military parade commenting on the fact that after three years Greek armed forces paraded in Greece's second largest city. The German media were referring to the inclusion of vehicles and aircraft in this year's parade, as troops on foot have not stopped their participation in parades.
"Spiegel" notes that the cost of parades in 2010 had reached 3 million euros, adding that "this year, defense minister Dimitris Avramopoulos chose, at low cost, to put morale ahead, as a value more significant than money."
