Times Article Wants Parthenon Marbles Returned to Athens

In a scathing article, in The Times, Oliver Kamm argues very strongly for the return of the Parthenon Marbles back to Greece. This, just a month after UNESCO announced it will undertake an effort at brokering a return of the sculptures to Athens.
The British editor notes how the 15 of the 92 of the metope panels and the 247 feet of the Parthenon Frieze (almost half) have broken the image scholars have of the original allowing multiple interpretations.
In his article, Mr. Kamm likened this dispersion to a tearing of Shakespeare's works and distributing pages, not even whole works, to different museums around the world.
The British author lauded the contemporary Acropolis museum that brings visitors as close as possible to the complete work.
Mr. Kamm also stressed the importance of the work done by Lord Renfrew, the archaeologist who raised doubts about stolen antiquities that "are now treated as cultural treasures rather than commercial spoils."
