Taxes hurt tourism
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Tourism professionals and island authorities are in a race against time in order to forestall the taxation of tourism that negotiations between the Greek government and its lenders are bringing on.
On their part, hoteliers are asking for the PM’s involvement, noting that added taxation on tourism and hotel businesses on islands will undermine current tourism projections as well as the competitiveness of Hellenic tourism.
Island authorities are also raising the same issue, sounding the alarm, stating that small businesses on islands have reached a breaking point.
