IMF withdraws from talks

The meeting between European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Thursday was a "last attempt" by Juncker for an agreement on Greece, a European diplomat commented.
"If the process was working properly the president would not have had to have a meeting with Tsipras today. President Juncker made a last attempt to make a deal possible,” the diplomat said.
Earlier, the IMF announced that its team at the negotiations with Greece had left Brussels, citing major differences in most areas and "no progress in narrowing these differences recently".
According to IMF spokesman Gerry Rice, "the ball is very much in Greece's court."
