Prime minister Antonis Samaras met with government vice-president Evangelos Venizelos, today, to discuss the new round of talks between the Greek government and the troika officials here to inspect progress on behalf of the country's creditors.
According to the media, Messrs Samaras and Venizelos agreed that the negotiations must finish as quickly as possible in order to restore social harmony and calm. The two top officials also repeated that no new horizontal measures will be taken.
PASOK officials said their party wanted greater social justice in the single property tax and that Venizelos' position with respect to Greek defence industries was that they should retain their export activities and be liquidated while in operation.
