Immunity Lifted for Golden Dawn MPs
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The climate was tense in parliament today as justice requests to have parliamentary immunity lifted for three Golden Dawn deputies was discussed.
Eleni Zaroulia, wife of jailed Golden Dawn chief Nikos Mihaloliakos, Stathis Boukouras, Ilias Panayotaros, and Ilias Kassidiaris were stripped of their immunity for the cases under investigation by justice.
Eleni Zaroulia under investigation for a bullet found in a bag she used to carry things to her jailed husband, said she wanted the lifting of her immunity so she could finally find out why she would have any reason for such a preposterous action.
However, she also derided the judicial system and the "supposed guardians of Democracy," adding that the prohibition against jailed Golden dawn MPs practicing their elected duties were "mafia-like practices to pass anti-Hellenic schemes." She also called the government "the worst tyrants, Greece has ever known."
Stathis Boukouras also expressed his desire for immunity to be lifted, for the case against a fighte he had with the mayor of Corinth, saying he had also sued the mayor, calling him a variety of names.
Ilias Kasidiaris, on his part, doubted the legitimacy of the parliamentary vote, personally attacking the parliament president Hristos Markoyannakis.
