Up to 75% is the drop in consumer purchases, as calculated by traders in Piraeus, as people are turning mainly to buying basic foodstuffs.
No queues at gas stations and small queues at ATMs of banks the traffic recorded this time in the greater Pireaus area.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Labourwas forced to intervene because of tension due to breaches of the labor law after the decision to impose restrictions on bank withdrawals. The ministry issued a statement warning that "the imposition of compulsory leave for employees with or without pay, non-payment of wages and business closures are illegal actions" that herald controls and penalties for offenders.
