Friend of Turkey Papandreou Plants Tree As Erdogan Provokes

Former PM Giorgos Papandreou was in Istanbul planting trees at the same with the Turkish PM's inflammatory rhetoric denying the existence of the Cyprus Republic.
Mr. Papandreou, who is in the city to attend a meeting of the Socialist International, as president of the group, he decided to visit Gezi park, where clashes took place last summer between police and protesters, and plant a tree as a "symbol of the power of citizens to make their own future with their own voice," as he said.
Mr. Papandreou stated that he is working for a close relationship between Greece and Turkey, and that he is a friend of the neighboring country.
