According to a report by “Ethnos” newspaper, an unknown Minoan Palace was revealed by archaeologists, in the area of Boufos, close to Sissi village, Lassithi.
Archaeologist J. Driessen and students from the Belgian School of Athens and the Catholic University of Louvain la Neuve are responsible for the excavations.
The excavations at Lassithi are the first part of a 5-year research program.
Archaeologists believe that the Minoan Palace is a big building with a central yard, like larger examples found throughout Crete.
