Government Locks Horns with SYRIZA
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
A new round of conflict on the political front has been kindled by the call for collaboration extended by SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras to governing coalition MPs that differ from government measures.
Government spokesperson Simos Kedikoglou spoke of promises seeking to "buy" parliament members so that Mr. Tsipras can gain power. The spokesman went on saying that Mr. Tsipras was placing ads through his party, seeking turncoats, noting that he would find no takers.
Government vice president Evangelos Venizelos spoke of a vulgar invitation to turn coat that expresses the institutional and political pettiness of Mr. Tsipras.
Mr. Venizelos, also foretold that a meeting of PASOK's parliamentary group will seek ways to protect democratic institutions and ethics from new forms of political hooliganism."
In an announcement released by SYRIZA, the party demands that Mr. Kedikoglou address its leader for answers to his llegations, adding that deputies of all parties should take on their responsibilities, either in favor of memorandum policies or in favor of the "people."
